About Our Founder

Corazón Global
was founded in May, 2005, by Janice Deaton Esq. RscP
when she left her law practice to dedicate herself full-time
to Corazón Global. As a Federal Criminal Defense
Attorney for 17 years, Janice learned a lot about how
and why her clients ended up in jail rather than in
a job or career. As an attorney who represented her
clients with compassion, she was often the first person
who really listened to them. The most rewarding aspect
of her law practice was guiding her clients and their
families to think more positively about themselves,
and about their future. Walking the path of self-awakening
with people who had such great challenges confirmed
for Janice anything is possible. It is this self-awakening
that inspires much of the work of Corazón Global.
Corazón Global was born out of the Global Heart
Vision of United Church of Religious Science, and is
inspired by the life of Catherine Harper, Janice's step-daughter.

Catherine “Kitty”
Harper
 In
2003, tragedy struck Janice's and her husband, Blake's,
family. Catherine suddenly became ill and died after an
eleven –week, courageous struggle in the just before her
eleventh birthday. She loved the teachings around Inner
Power and Oneness that are the heart of the Religious Science
philosophy, and was proud of the Corazón Global work
that Janice was engaged with around the world. She summed
up her belief about what is God one night this way: “God
is a power within each one of us that we can use to make
our selves and our lives better.” Her strong sense of self-esteem,
compassion for others, and uncanny success at all she attempted
made Catherine stand out as a truly remarkable girl.
Our project, “School without
Walls” is especially inspired by Catherine, who was a straight
“A” student, and who exemplified the self-esteem and compassion
we nurture in our workshops. Janice and her husband, Blake
Harper, have dedicated Corazón Global to Catherine. |

The Birth of a
Vision
|
|
Corazón Global is
born out of a vision. The vision holds the human race as
one human family and sees the infinite potential of each
person on the planet fully realized.
I first became interested
in opening a Science of Mind center in 2002, when I traveled
to Russia and Ukraine as a Global Heart delegate to lecture
and facilitate workshops on the Science of Mind. I met people
who profoundly touched my heart with their thirst for the
teachings of Science of Mind philosophy; as well as by their
openness and generosity. I saw the Global Heart Vision of
United Church for Religious Science manifest right before
my eyes. The Global Heart Vision compelled me to create
a center in our neighboring city, Tijuana , Mexico. I grew
up in San Diego , and spent many weekends in Tijuana and
Rosarito as a young girl. The richness, openness, and “alegria”
of the people of Tijuana drew me to this city where Corazón
Global has been welcomed warmly.
Although I had caught a vision
of a center in Mexico , I did not expect to open one for
many years. I enjoyed practicing law, and was successful
in my law practice.
Following the second Global
Heart journey, which was to Mexico City and Monterrey ,
Mexico in November, 2003, a group of people began visioning
on Spanish speaking ministries. After a little over a year,
the idea of Corazón Global was born. I was called
to leave my law practice of seventeen years to dedicate
myself to Corazón Global and pay tribute to Catherine
through our non-profit foundation. We have dedicated the
foundation to Catherine.

Mission Statement
The Mission of Corazón Global is to educate, empower
and awaken all children and adults to their Infinite Potential
by reaching across borders and boundaries to transform the
world one heart at a time.”
Corazón Global
is a Non-profit Corporation with
Two Principle Projects
Tijuana Center - We have a Holistic Center
in Tijuana , where we offer weekly lectures on Spiritual
Living, Universal Mysticism, Metaphysics, Meditation, yoga
classes as well as massage therapy and reiki. Corazón
Global is the only Spiritual Living Center in Baja California
, and is one of three in Mexico. We are just one and one-half

School without Walls -
Corazón Global facilitates secular (non-religious)
workshops for school children, based on self-esteem, compassion
for self and others. We teach the children how thoughts
create our experience; that there is a mind-body connection;
how our consciousness affects others and then we tie this
all into self-esteem, tolerance and compassion for
others. We offer these workshops free of charge. For more

What We Believe
|
|
The Science of Mind is the
study of Life, the Divine, and the nature of the laws of
thought. Although there cannot be a single name for or definition
of "God", we know it includes Love, and Creative
Intelligence and Creative Energy. We know each one of us
has a "Divine Spark" within, through which we
co-create our lives with the Divine.
Science of Mind is a Gnostic philosophy.
That is, we learn through personal experience and knowledge
of the Divine and Its power in our lives rather than through
dogma.
We know we live in a Universe made of energy;
and believe the energy of thought affects the world we live
in. As the Founder of Science of Mind, Ernest Holmes, wrote:
"Change Your Thinking, Change Your Life."
At Corazón Global, we know that all Life is made
of energy. The visible world is the invisible organization
of energy.

know that our thoughts are energy, and that the thoughts
we have out picture or manifest in our lives. Thus, using
the conscious direction of our thought, we create desired
results in our lives.
We know that the energy in the universe
vibrates at various levels. We know that thoughts and emotions,
affect not only ourselves but also those around us. We know
that positive thoughts-- love and tolerance, for example--
also positively affect those around us. As Dr. David Hawkins,
M.D. Ph.D. explains in his book, Power v. Force, there are
levels of consciousness that can be and have been calibrated.
Those people living at the higher levels of consciousness
of love, tolerance, and forgiveness cancel out the negativity
of those living at the levels of fear, greed, jealousy and
envy. In this knowledge lies hope for the planet.

THE GLOBAL HEART
VISION OF UNITED CHURCH OF RELIGIOUS SCIENCE
We envision the emergence of the Global Heart to balance
and guide the further evolution of humanity.
We see a world free of homelessness, violence,
war, hunger, separation and disenfranchisement.
We see a world in which there is generous
and continuous sharing of heart and resources... a world
in which forgiveness, whether for errors, injustices, or
debts, is the norm... a world in which borders are irrelevant...
a world which has renewed its emphasis on beauty, nature
and love through a resurgence of creativity, art, and aesthetics.
. .a world in which fellowship prospers and connects through
the guidance of spiritual wisdom and experience... a world
in which we live and grow as One Human Family.
The spiritual community of "United
Church of Religious Science" is united and actuated
by this compelling vision of a healthy world (a world experiencing
Global Heart) and is ardently committed to bringing this
vision forth through its ministries and its transformative
teaching.
We envision "UCRS" as a bridge
across the illness and illusion of separation thereby dynamically
empowering the vision of Global Heart.
"UCRS" is a global community
of people pervasively caring for and about each other and
the entire human family, thereby bringing the gift of active
compassion to the world. Our local churches and communities
become "points of inspiration and influence" effectively

PEACE STATEMENT
OF THE UNITED CHURCH OF RELIGIOUS SCIENCE
We know that deep within every person, the Divine pattern
of perfect peace is inherent, emanating from the God within.
Peace is the Spiritual Unity bridging diversity and unifying
all of creation. In a world that works for everyone,
each of us is an instrument of peace. We dedicate
ourselves to support all efforts to uphold and spread peace
with nonviolence and cooperation. We join with all
spiritually conscious people everywhere, in calling upon
the leaders of the world to resolve domestic and international
differences through prayer, diplomacy and peaceful action.
Peace is brought forth by conscious intention and action.
We embody and express peace in every aspect of our individual
and collective lives. By living our lives in peace,
we are contributing to a world of peace. |
